Dr. Butt is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the Texas state Optometry Board. She offers full routine eye examinations as well as medical eye examinations focusing on ocular health. She prescribes glasses, soft contact lenses and rigid gas permeable contact lenses. She specializes in difficult contact lens cases such as keratoconus and post corneal transplant and uses the best technology to co-manage with the local ophthalmologists to prevent progression. Additionally, she is certified to fit overnight reshaping or orthokeratology contact lenses so that children and adults can be glasses free during the day. She loves working with children. Unlike the typical children exam that you might receive elsewhere, she also assesses binocular vision, where the vision might be 20/20 in each eye but both eyes do not work together. This condition can cause eyestrain when reading, headaches, and loss of 3D vision. As a therapeutic optometrist she is actively involved with the management of dry eyes, ocular infections and allergies. She tests and monitors quantity and quality of natural tears and uses state of the art technology to examine lids and lashes to make a treatment plan specific for individual patients. She is also an optometric glaucoma specialist who has gained most of her clinical externship experience in Houston while diagnosing and managing diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age related macular degeneration. She also co- manages LASIK and Cataract surgery patients with local ophthalmologists. Dr. Butt is a member of the American Optometric Association and Texas Optometric Association. She enjoys spending time with her husband and her two boys. She loves to travel internationally for vacation and optometry mission trips. 

Introducing Dr. Shauna Anne J. Cherukara (chair-uh-car-uh), a native Houstonian! After graduating Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Houston Baptist University, Dr. Cherukara achieved her Doctor of Optometry at the prestigious University of Houston College of Optometry where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She served many public health leadership positions and received a Clinical Letter of Excellence from her faculty. During her 4th year of Optometry school, she completed her clinical externships at the world renowned Walter Reed National Military Medical Hospital where she treated ocular complications due to traumatic brain injuries and at the Native American Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where she gained experience treating medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and dry eyes. As a board certified therapeutic optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, Dr. Cherukara is your go-to expert for all things eye-related! She offers a wide array of services, from eye exams and post-operative cataract and LASIK visits to the management of eye injuries, all while showcasing a stunning selection of frames and contacts. A proud member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, Dr. Cherukara is committed to staying at the forefront of her field and strives to create a warm and welcoming environment, ensuring every patient feels valued and heard.
